IUC-YS is an autonomous body of UGC established as the Inter-University Centre for yogic sciences under section 12(ccc) of the UGC Act, 1956.
The primary objective of the Inter-University Centre for Yogic Sciences (IUC-YS) is to establish within the university system world-class facilities to conduct conferences,  training, and research in yoga along with the development of curriculum, textbooks, supplementary material, newsletters, journals in teaching yoga sciences and to promulgate information regarding the effective yogic practices to enhance the mental, physical, behavioral, social aspect of the human well being and its therapeutic usage to cure human health and diseases.
