1. Cognitive neuroscience
A state-of-the-art laboratory with the following scientific instruments
- Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) to assess brain signals in different yoga postures
- Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scan to observe metabolic processes
- 256 Channel (MR compatible) and 64 Channel EEG system (telemetric) to assess neural activities of the brain in different yoga practices and conditions
- Functional Transcranial Doppler sonography (TCD) measures the blood velocity through the brain's blood vessels
- Functional Near Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS) for hemodynamic measurements with near IR.
- Diffuse Optical Tomography (DTI), an MRI-based neuroimaging technique
- Eprime, Superlab, and inqusite for preparing and presenting a neuropsychological paradigm
- BESA, EMSE, brain voyager, and NIRsoft are necessary softwares for neuroimaging studies and analysis of various signals.
- MATLAB (institution version) for signal processing and preparing the design of the experiments
